What is transition planning?
Transition planning is helping students go from high school to their career or post-secondary education. For example, if a student wants to work at a print shop, I help them plan for that and make sure their courses are in line with that goal. I also check in with their other teachers and make sure their individualized education plans (IEP's) are on track for that career. If a student wants to go to college, I help make sure they are on the road to a certificate or degree of their choosing once they leave our campus. I also check with their other teachers to make sure they are on the right path for the student to be successful once they leave our campus. I arrange for job shadowing opportunities, work based learning, and community-based instruction depending on the needs of the student. I work closely with different agencies in town as well to make sure that students are leaving with the knowledge and skills they need to live independently.
If you have questions or own a business that students can work and learn at please contact me. Thank you, Carrie Fry RemindCheck your grades!Log into Skyward to check your grades.
